The History of Cork
Cork, what an amazing material. Its use has been documented from 5000 years ago when Chinese fishermen used it to form floats. The Egyptians used it to stop up their wine bottles. The Mediterranean cork forests were cultivated as much as 700 years ago and the settlers of the area began to use it on their roofs and floors to insulate their houses.
Until relatively recently ice boxes and freezers were almost exclusively insulated with cork. The ice ships that sailed ice to the Caribbean were insulated with cork.
And now, in its pinnacle of development CoolCorC has developed a most astounding product. Cork in the form of a cup sleeve can now be used to keep your hand from burning while sipping your favorite drink. Viva la CoolCorC cork cup sleeves!
